Arizona: Navajo Taco
Sandwich served: August 24, 2012
Weddings are synonymous with celebration, and beyond the overwhelming affection for the couple-to-be, it’s a great time to get together with friends and family from around the globe. Stately Sandwiches was lucky to be part of a bachelorette party for Colleen’s great (college) friend, Megan.
For those who read Virginia, you know that Colleen and I went to college together as well, so it was a wonderful reunion of friends [and sorority sisters!]. Many a story was recounted as the fry bread sizzled and margaritas were sipped [or pounded].
Megan and her fiancé, Ryan, met in Arizona and will be married there this November. First introduced at a baseball field, where Navajo tacos are proudly sold, I felt this sandwich was very fitting! The Navajo taco was also voted the state food of Arizona in 1995.
I wish Megan and Ryan all the best as they start their new life together – congratulations! And to Em Shea, Christa, and Yates: glad we had a chance to catch up and I hope to see you all soon!
